I may have taken a few liberties with the acronym of this organization, but if you must have a 37-character organization it simply requires some form of abbreviation. Now I would think that the Rural Awareness and Development Society would be something about farming, but apparently RADS is also devoted to preventing and correcting atrocities against women, girls, and dalits. They also campaign against such issues as child marriage, child labor, and child abuse. In addition to this significant platter of responsibilities they have taken on a desert of conducting awareness campas and trainings on legal literacy, voter education, and human rights for members of the commuity. In concert to his agenda they provide legal aid to women who have been the victim of violence (rape, family violence, caste violence land dispute, dowry violence, etc) or bigamy.

   RADS became a HIPP (Holdeen India Program Partner) in 1997, since then they have recieved $43,000.
