  • IDEAL
Institute for Development, Education, And Learning

IDEAL was founded in 1993 for the capacity building of grassroots workers, What this means is that IDEAL's sole activity is to train grassroots activists who will work amongst the dalits. They believe in an 'empowering' approach to help people. They want to teach dalits to help themselves instead of always being the recipients of help.

In its training programs IDEAL attempts to help people gain greater control over their health and lives. develop confidence in their collective ability to solve problems as well as various abilities and tools that need to be in an activist's 'kit'.

Since becoming a HIP partner in 1998 about $23,000 has been granted to IDEAL by us.
