Breakthrough Trust The Breakthrough Trust has an interesting method, which seems not a little odd to me. They create awareness about human rights through popular culture. This means that they have forums, use the internet, etc. but they also do odd things like release music videos. Currently Breakthrough focueses on the areas of women's rights, sexuality, religion and peace, and racial, ethnic, and caste equality. In the course of their work on women's rights they have released a music album and two music videos, as well as activities relating to their website. They have also conducted several workshops. In the area of race and ethnicity they have released a video on the World Conference against Racism and many more materials will follow. They are relatively recent, only founded in 1999 so the list of materials so far produced cannot be expected to be overwhelming. To learn more about their work you should go to www.breakthrough.tv, which is registered in the happy island republic of Tuvalu. In the year of our lord 2002 the Breakthrough Trust has sent us a proposal humbly asking for a mere 45,000 rupees, which is unsurprising considering that its only a four-woman operation. I don't know whether they will recieve funding, but they deserve it. To do so much good with so little money is really...good. UUA Main Page · Search Our Site · Contact Us
